In my opinion, his passion and life mission is to help bring people up out of their own darkness. I've been a Nas fan since around 1996, right around when I am came out and I was in high school. It took well over 10 years for me to get it. And I feel that I ONLY can comprehend around 10% of his art. I try to break down and understand one song a day fully, but that is harder than it seems.
