Neighborhood makes really nice pieces, though they are definitely on the pricey end. Their Fall/Winter offering includes a purple and black windbreaker and a sick flannel coat. Get ‘em at Cliff Edge.

24 Hour Store
November 9, 2008 · No Comments
This is a sweet concept, Paper Magazine invited a number of retailers to sell products in a store set-up for 24 hours. You know I love the use of scarcity to get those evolutionary triggers clicked. Brands involved include Supreme, Undefeated, Jeremy Scott, etc.

Limoland X Crescent Down Works
November 7, 2008 · No Comments
Wow, talk about a sweet and exclusive little number here. Ain’t nothing like a little scarcity to drive irrational purchasing. French brand Limoland hooked up with the expert downsmiths at Crescent Down Works in Seattle, and allowed each of their resellers to choose their own colorways, so not many of each are going to be floating around. Check the piece released to Firmament over at The Glade. Nasty.

Mob Fall
November 6, 2008 · No Comments
One of my favorite streetwear lines for the ladies is Married to the Mob. They released a bunch of really nice clothes for fall, including wool coats and bombers. And, as always, the pics look nice. You gotta sell in this economy, people!

Hickey Fall
July 26, 2008 · No Comments
I don’t know much about Hickey, but their fall line caught my eye. It’s pretty preppy, but not in a plaid shorts on guys sort of way, but rather in an intellectual, collegiate way (Love the elbow pads). Which is good with me, because I like to hide my scorching insecurities underneath my nerdiness…word, Lacy, I do read Adorno for fun.

Custom Mishka
July 26, 2008 · No Comments
Mishka is one of my favorite small companies. From their designs, which lean toward the edgy and controversial, to their marketing, which is more than controversial, Mishka releases some great clothing that is definitely Macy’s ain’t have this, if you know what I mean. Adding to their impressive original releases, Mishka just launched their custom store, where you can mix and match colorways and designs until your tiny, blackened heart is content.

VNGRD Store Anniversary
July 10, 2008 · No Comments
VNGRD launched their online store, The Steal, a year ago…and that’s about all I know about ‘em. I really just thought this Octopus jacket was nice. It’s too flashy for me, but I’d love to see someone in the purple one, and it combines satisfaction of my love for cephalopods with pretty colors. I sleep easy.
